Deaf Services Academy is the only program created for service providers (in all service industries) who have a basic understanding of deafness and want to learn to better serve the Deaf Community. The program helps to form a stronger "bridge" for providing services to the Deaf Community in your local area. This strong bridge will allow better interactions, leading to better services provided to Deaf individuals, which can lead to you becoming the go-to service provider for the Deaf Community in your area.

2. Communicate in Their Preferred Mode 3. Check for Clarity.

Learn what this means and how to be successful following these!

6 Steps to Becoming "Comfortable" on that Bridge

The steps to becoming "comfortable" on this "bridge" between the 2 "worlds" starts with learning basic signs and ends with so much "comfort" that you seek out Deaf individuals to provide services for you!

Resources or Places to Turn when you're stuck in the future

Resources available in each community differ, but there are some common ones to seek out when you need that extra support. You will learn those resources here!

So, Will this Work??

It worked for me, and I have helped others on a smaller scale

I was clueless about the Deaf World before 2010. I took 2 years of college level sign language classes before receiving my social work degree and starting my social work career. I followed this path and have seen results!

I have now helped approximately 100 Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals to find and keep successful employment over 8 years in 2 states (Nebraska and Kentucky). While helping the Deaf individuals find success, I interacted with their other service providers and employers to assist with smooth interactions between the Deaf World and the Hearing World.

Over the past 14 years, I have learned about the barriers, and I about what success can look like. My course will help you to find the same kind of success that I have helped others achieve.

Plain and Simple: Deaf Services Academy can change lives of service providers and their clients/customers and It's officially OPEN for Enrollment!

3 monthly payments of $55

A one-time payment of $149 (save $16)

Here's a Sneak peak

What do you get in the course?

Curriculum overview:

WEEK 1: Pillar 1 & 3 keys and importance

Start by learning the how and why of getting and keeping a Deaf person's attention and checking to assure no miscommunications.

Effective services will not happen without having your customer/ client's attention.

Along the same lines, if your customer/client leaves not fully understanding what was told to them, the communication was not effective.

Learn, in this module how to insure success in both of these areas!

WEEK 2: Pillar 2 keys and importance

Week two is all about the how and why of communicating in the preferred mode of the Deaf person. This does not always mean finding an interpreter (but sometimes that is what that means)

You will learn briefly what the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) says about this. You will also learn tips and strategies for finding and working with a sign language interpreter when one is requested and the tips and strategies for using technology to communicate with Deaf customers/ clients

WEEK 3: The Resources

This module will include the list, descriptions, and how to contact resources in your area for further assistance interacting with the Deaf World. If you are outside the United States, this module may pertain less to you but will still be helpful to know what to look for.

Knowing how to find a sign language interpreter can be important, but there are other resources too. There are the state agency "hubs" that provide resources for connecting with your Deaf and hard of hearing customers/ clients, but there are the other helpful resources too. This module will provide that information.

WEEk 4: Becoming "comfortable"/ confident

Step one here is to learn some basic sign language but there are five other steps to becoming comfortable interacting with your local Deaf Community.

This is not an "overnight" process. The process doesn't even happen in a week or a month, but stick to the plan that you will learn in this module and we can only imagine where you'll be with this in a year or two!

The 6 step process is also not a "one and done" steps to success. After learning basic sign language and then using what you learned to interact with a Deaf person, you will become more comfortable interacting with the Deaf World, but this is a "rinse and repeat" process to "stay comfortable" in the community.

Keep the pdf that comes with this module for constant reminders as you become more and more "comfortable" interacting with the Deaf Community!

WEEK 5: Easing Further Concerns

With all of this, there will be more concern about interacting with the Deaf Community, but don't worry, the fifth module is here to ease your concerns!

The final module expands on lessons learned in the first four modules and adds extra assurance that you can do this!

Behind the scenes peek: I do not plan to record (or even finish my outline) for the fifth week course until the third week is released. I plan to listen to my students' wants and needs about those further concerns in their industries to know what is needed.

But wait..... there's more!

These bonuses will help you to be unstoppable serving your Deaf Community!

Try out the first module and if you are not satisfied, you can get your money back before receiving the second module.

That means that you can get the full hour-long module to learn the ins and outs of catching and keeping attention of your customers/ clients and checking for their clarity before making a final commitment to stay for the rest of the course.

Show me that you have put in the work to complete the first lesson, and we'll refund your investment.

If you're thinking "this sounds amazing but I'm still not 100% sure" keep reading...

You should give Deaf Services Academy a 7-day risk-free shot if you're motivated by any of the following:

1. You want to calm any nerves you may have about interacting with Deaf clients/ customers

You know how to provide the service that you are trained to provide, but if a profoundly Deaf sign language user came to you for a service, that might challenge your confidence. Or, if someone came to you requesting an accommodation (that you have never heard of) to help with communication as you provide a service to them, and you don't know what to do first. Knowing more about providing services to this community could go a long way to calm those nerves!

2. You're not afraid of putting in the work

You know by now that the Deaf Community has historically been under-served and ignored by much of the Hearing Community. You also know that putting in a some effort to learn how to effectively serve the Deaf Community can go a long way, making you the "go-to" service provider for Deaf Individuals for your industry. The work pays off and you are interested in seeing that return on your investment!

3. You recognize there is no "perfect time" and waiting is not the answer

That doesn't mean you don't break a sweat when you think about pressing the buy button below and investing in an incredibly promising future for the work that you do. But it does mean you're fully aware that it's either get to it "one day" or this is "Day One" for your best possible services to this community. We don't know when the first, or next, Deaf person will knock on your door, so if there is ever a "right time" it would be now.

Deaf Services Academy is not magic...

But it will provide a wonderful tool for becoming the most effective that you can be with your service to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in your own backyard.

Whether you want to focus your service on the Deaf Community like I did serving primarily Deaf Clients at Vocational Rehabilitation for over 8 years, or you just want to become more comfortable serving the community (and put the clients/customers more at ease), this course can be the ticket to achieving your goals.

Deaf Services Academy can open up a whole new potential group of customers, or provide smoother service delivery to customers you are already serving.

There are 48 million Americans with significant hearing loss according to 2011 National Health Interview Survey. That is a lot of individuals you could potentially serve in your industry.

There is room for you in the Agape Pah Community and I am here to walk along side you every step of the way!

I can't wait to meet you inside Deaf Services Academy!
